With the help of

LAGFF proudly launches LAGFF-doc, its inaugural Documentary Festival, dedicated to the courage, craft, and hard work of documentary filmmakers whose stories give voice to lived experience and truth. Created to offer these films a distinct platform beyond Greece, the festival honors excellence with Orpheus Awards for Feature and Short Documentary, Audience Awards, and a Social Justice Award offered by Loyola Marymount University (LMU). This first edition is presented in collaboration with LMU, celebrating powerful stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

In 2025 Los Angeles Greek Film Festival proudly celebrated a milestone moment with an unforgettable award week honoring legendary filmmaker Costa-Gavras. The celebration included a retrospective of his groundbreaking work, engaging discussions about cinema and politics, and a series of events recognizing his unparalleled contribution to global film. Highlighted by a moving tribute on Opening Night, the week brought together artists, cinephiles, and community members to pay homage to a visionary director whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

The 19th edition of the festival will be held across 6 days, from May 27 to June 1. The nonprofit organization brings filmmakers from Greece and Cyrpus, as well as films about Greece, to Southern California.
